MOSCOW, January 14 (Itar-Tass) — Some 350 people participated in a Saturday rally of the Yabloko Party in the Chistye Prudy Square in Moscow.
Maya Zavyalova, a party member and organizer of the event, was brought to a police precinct for the excess of the agreed number of rally participants, the press service of the Moscow police department told reporters.
Besides, police detained party leader Sergei Mitrokhin.
“The rally was attended by 350 people, while the application was for 300. Following the rally, police suggested that Zavyalova should go to a police precinct to compile a protocol on an administrative violation concerning the excessive number of rally participants. She refused; however, police officers brought her to the precinct where an appropriate protocol was compiled,” the press service reported.
Mitrokhin was detained for disobedience of legal demands of police officers. “Rally organizers were warned on Friday about the place of passage for the rally. However, Mitrokhin, on arriving to the place, decided to pass without inspection through metal detectors.
He pushed apart metal barriers, pushed policemen and called on rally participants to pass along with him without inspection,” noted a press service officer, adding that there is a video clip of this action.
He noted that the party leader was brought to the police precinct for compiling a protocol on an administrative violation.
