The heart attack of a passenger caused an emergency landing of an airliner Boeing-737 of the Nord Star Airlines in Sochi

SOCHI, January 13 (Itar-Tass) —— The heart attack of a passenger caused an emergency landing of an airliner Boeing-737 of the Nord Star Airlines in Sochi. The airliner was en route from the Egyptian sea resort Hurghada to Moscow. A 57-year-old Moscow woman was diagnosed with the condition dangerous for life, a source in the Nord Star Airlines told Itar-Tass on Friday.

“The commander of the airliner decided to interrupt the flight and to make an emergency landing for the soonest medical aid to the woman. Thanks to clear-cut and well coordinated actions of the crew and the timely first medical aid she was saved. After the successful landing at the Sochi airport the woman was hospitalized to the city hospital to continue treatment,” the source said.

After the refuelling and necessary technical maintenance the airliner with 166 passengers continued the flight and arrived in Moscow successfully.

The Nord Star Airlines is incorporated in Norilsk Nickel Group.
