Five former Duma committee chairmen to be reduced to deputies

Former head of the international affairs committee Konstantin Kosachev has been nominated for the post of first deputy chairman of the same committee

MOSCOW, January 13 (Itar-Tass) —— The Russian State Duma is to appoint deputy chairmen of its 29 committees on Friday and five former chairmen are likely to be reduced in their positions.

Former head of the international affairs committee Konstantin Kosachev (United Russia) has been nominated for the post of first deputy chairman of the same committee. The committee is now chaired by journalist Alexei Pushkov.

Former head of the committee for public and religious associations Sergei Popov (United Russia) was recommended to be first deputy chairman of the same committee which is now chaired by Alexei Ostrovsky (LDPR).

Former head of the financial market committee Vladislav Reznik (United Russia) is likely to become first deputy chairman of the same committee.

Former head of the defense committee Viktor Zavarzin and former head of the energy committee Yuri Lipatov were recommended to be first deputy chairmen of the same committees.
