Kabardino-Balkaria police identify 2 destroyed militants

During the special operation, police also detained A.Zakurayev, aged 21

NALCHIK, January 12 (Itar-Tass) — Police in Kabardino-Balkaria have identified the two militants destroyed in a special operation in the republic’s Baksan district earlier on Thursday, the operations headquarters told Itar-Tass.

They are Kabardino-Balkaria residents E.Tashuyev, 22 and A.Tligurov, 24. During the special operation, police also detained A.Zakurayev, aged 21.

During the anti-terrorist operation, law-enforcement personnel found a well-equipped dugout of militants, which contained food, clothes and other essentials for several people. At the scene of fight with the gunmen, the law-enforcers found and retrieved firearms ,ammunition, grenades, homemade bombs and military uniforms.

Criminal proceedings were opened over "attempted murder of law-enforcement personnel", "illegal turnover of weapons" and "illegal turnover of explosive devices."

The regime of anti-terrorist operation was effective south of the Kremenchug-Konstantinovskyoe village from 20:00, Moscow time, on January 11 until 13:00, Moscow time, on January 12.
