CHISINAU, January 12 (Itar-Tass) —— The Moldovan Constitutional Court has found the December 16, 2011 first round of the presidential elections in the parliament invalid.
A deputy Mihai Godea filed a lawsuit in the Constitutional Court, as the latter believes during the secret vote in the first round the lawmakers violated the Constitution, showing the filled ballot papers before the cameras. The judges agreed with these arguments, finding the elections invalid.
Now the parliament will have to set the date of new elections again and to cancel the second round of the presidential elections previously set on January 15.
