Chinese official speaks highly of talks with Tajikistan

China and Tajikistan are good neighbors and reliable partners, they have no disagreements and misunderstandings

DUSHANBE, January 12 (Itar-Tass) — China appreciates bilateral relations with Tajikistan in the political, economic and social spheres and backs their intensification, the vice chairperson of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, Chen Zhili told reporters on Thursday after talks with Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon.

“China and Tajikistan are good neighbors and reliable partners, they have no disagreements and misunderstandings,” she said.

According to Chen, “The meeting with Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon was useful and constructive. We discussed the results of cooperation by our countries last year and set long-term plans.”

“I have arrived here as a special envoy of the Chinese president to take part in events devoted to the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our countries,” she said. Chen recalled that the trade turnover between the two countries had increased 600-fold during that period. The trade turnover in January-November totaled more than 600 million dollars.

According to the press service of the Tajik president, Rakhmon called on China to intensify participation in the fulfillment of investment projects mostly in hydro power indsutry, agriculture and transport infrastructure.
