MOSCOW, January 12 (Itar-Tass) — First Vice-Premier Viktor Zubkov has assigned the Ministry of Agriculture to work in conjunction with the regions to insure lands that are prone to persistent droughts He gave the assignment during this year's first meeting of the commission dealing with agri-industrial sector matters.
"I want the Agriculture Ministry to launch appropriate work with the regions so that they would rest forgetful of territories that are prone to constant droughts," Zubkov pointed out.
The First Vice-Premier recalled that this year's spring sowing would be conducted under conditions of a new system of agro insurance with due regard for the entering into force, effective from January 1, of the Law on Agricultural Insurance.
