PYONGYANG, January 12 (Itar-Tass) — Syrian President Bashar Assad has sent a congratulatory telegram to the new Leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Kim Jong-un, on his entering upon his duties as Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Korean People's Army.
The Syrian Head of State expressed confidence that '"under the wise guidance of Kim Jong-un, the Korean people will achieve still greater progress and prosperity".
Bashar Assad also wished the youngest son of Kim Jong-il "success at this responsible post", "good health and happiness", the Korean Central News Agency reported on Thursday.
