Stormy winds approaching Russia’s westernmost Kaliningrad Region

A special warning was issued to fishermen not to take to sea.

KALININGRAD, January 12 (Itar-Tass) —— A storm with wind gusts of up to 25 meters a second is approaching Russia’s westernmost Kaliningrad Region, a spokesman for the local emergencies administration told Itar-Tass on Thursday.

“According to the Kaliningrad meteorological centre, strong winds of 17 - 22 meters per second, with gusts of up to 25 meters per second are expected in the region,” the spokesman said.

Emergencies agencies recommend local residents to observe safety rule while outside. A special warning was issued to fishermen not to take to sea.
