Shoigu urges to develop program to ease up spring flood

Shoigu also noted that the ice crossings had already been created

MOSCOW, January 12 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian Minister of Emergency Situations Sergei Shoigu demanded to develop a program to ease up the spring flood.

“I draw your attention to the forecast. Siberian rivers have frozen down to the bottom, the ice is very thick on small and big rivers,” the minister said at a telecom meeting. “Already today we should launch the drafting of a program to destroy the ice and ease up the spring flood,” he said.

Shoigu also noted that the ice crossings had already been created. Meanwhile, he noted that fords and crossings should be created in those places, which people use for the purpose.

“We should not introduce any bans in the places, where people got used to walk. The crossings should be built there,” the minister underlined.
