Strong cyclone coming to northern Sakhalin

Heavy snowfalls and blizzards are expected in the north of the island and the visibility will go down to 500 meters

VLADIVOSTOK, January 12 (Itar-Tass) —— A strong cyclone with western winds up to 30 meters per second is coming to northern Sakhalin. The cyclone will hit the Okha and Ogliki districts on January 14 and will be raging there for two days, the main emergency situation department in the Sakhalin Region warned on Thursday.

Heavy snowfalls and blizzards are expected in the north of the island and the visibility will go down to 500 meters.

The rescuers and road workers were put on high alert to clean up the aftermaths of the cyclone.
