DPRK to keep body of Kim Jong Il, to put it in memorial complex

The country will be decorated with portraits of Kim Jong Il with a smile on his face, and new obelisks devoted to him will be made

PYONGYANG, January 12 (Itar-Tass) —— The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has made a decision to keep the body of Kim Jong Il “the eternal leader of the party and revolution in compliance with the unanimous wish of all members of the party, military and of the people of the country,” reads a special statement of the political bureau of the Central Committee of the Korean Workers’ Party /KWP/ published on Thursday.

The body of Kim Jong Il will be preserved and placed in the Kumsusan Memorial Palace, which is a burial vault of his father, the founder of the DPRK - Kim Il Sung.

Besides, the party made a decision to have a statue of “the great leader of the DPRK”, who had died on December 17 of a heart attack during an inspection trip.

The birthday of Kim Jong Il, February 16, will be in the DPRK a “Day of Shining Star.” The country will be decorated with “portraits of Kim Jong Il with a smile on his face, and new obelisks devoted to him will be made.”
