MOSCOW, January 11 (Itar-Tass) — Microsoft will supply newest software products to the Russian manufacturer of antivirus software, Kaspersky Lab, as part of what Microsoft spokespersons have called one of the corporation’s biggest transactions in Russia.

The terms of the agreement envision supplies of the software to Kaspersky’s outlets in West-European and East-European countries, the Western hemisphere, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and the Pacific.

The transaction is called upon to standardize the Kaspersky Lab’s global IT-infrastructure, Microsoft said.

The software will be supplied for more than 2,100 computers and a unified infrastructure embracing more than 400 servers, as well as the creation of a private “cloud defense” in the company’s data processing centers.

“We’ve been using Microsoft technologies for many years by now and we’re quite satisfied with the results,” Andrei Tikhonov, the Kaspersky Lab director for IT said.

“This agreement signals the next step towards the newest technologies that will help unify the software and IT infrastructure across the world.
