MINSK, January 11 (Itar-Tass) —— In the period of trial, Belarusians have managed to preserve their independence, civil peace and accord, according to Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
“We have lived through a period of trial without catastrophes or losses thanks to the best sides of our national character – mercifulness and friendliness, warm-heartedness and willingness to share everything we have,” Lukashenko said on Tuesday at a ceremony of awarding men of culture and arts.
“Having preserved independence, civil peace and accord,” the Belarusian people “won a moral victory and built society ruled by the laws of consciousness, justice and concern for the good of everyone,” he stressed.
According to Lukashenko, the ultimate goal of arts is to consolidate society, to increase the strength of the state.
