CHELYABINSK, January 11 (Itar-Tass) — Oleg Ukhin, a prosecutor of the Chelyabinsk regional Prosecutor's who was wounded in an armed incident in Chelyabinsk, died in hospital, senior aide to the Chelyabinsk regional prosecutor Oksana Morzheukhina said Wednesday.
Vladimir Shishkov, a senior aide to chief of the regional Investigative Department, has declared that the crime has been solved. The suspect has shot himself while being pursued, Shishkov said.
Oleg Ukhin was a prosecutor of a department for supervision over legislation in the field of economics and environmental protection. He came under gunfire opened by an unknown gunman near a kindergarten in Chelyabinsk on Wednesday morning. His wife was killed on the spot. Oleg Ukhin died of wounds in hospital later.
A criminal case has been opened. An investigation into the armed incident continues.
