MOSCOW, January 8 (Itar-Tass) — A Russian Navy group of ships headed by the heavy aircraft-carrying cruiser Admiral Kuznetsov arrived in the Syrian port of Tartous to replenish its stores.
The large anti-submarine ship Admiral Chabanenko, the guard ship Ladny and the tanker Lena have directly arrived at the port, and the aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov and the rescue tugboat Nikolai Chiker lie off the coast.
After replenishing the stores, the ships will leave the Syrian waters on January 9 and continue the long trip, a source of the Russian Defence Ministry's Navy press service said on Sunday, adding that the weaponry and technical means of the ships functioned as normal.
