MOSCOW, January 6 (Itar-Tass) — Chairman of Russia’s Central Electoral Commission, Vladimir Churov, said Thursday he does not find it necessary to consider the issue of his resignation right now.
“I’d like very much to be able to answer this question /regarding his resignation/ in four years’ time, but I won’t answer it right now,” he said in an interview with the Moscow Echo radio.
He dismissed the accusations of having been the central figure of the recent parliamentary election as a gross overstatement.
“That’s totally unfair,” Churov said. “I really think my role in history has been overstated.”
