KIEV, January 5 (Itar-Tass) —— Supporters of Ukraine’s former Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko organise a picket on Thursday at Kharkov’s penitentiary despite the court’s banning, local television reported.
Several hundred people carry national flags, symbols of the party and signage.
Kharkov’s district administrative court made a decision banning protesting actions by the penitentiary on January 5 and 6. The city authorities claimed that organisation of pickets contradicts the existing legislation, and besides “the penitentiary is a specialised guarded facility.” In addition to this, the authorities say that “organisers of the picket have not filed timely notifications.”
