LONDON, January 3 (Itar-Tass) —— The average daily oil output reached the absolutely highest level of 10.27 million barrels in Russia in 2011 for the last 20 years. Since the collapse of the Soviet Union Russia has not produced such a high volume of oil, the Bloomberg business news agency reported on Monday with the reference to the reports from the Russian Ministry of Energy and analyzed by Western specialists.
Thus, the oil production year-to-year growth has made 1.25% in Russia in 2011 against 2010. Meanwhile, the Russian oil industry produced 10.32 million barrels daily in December 2011.
These figures point to the fact that Russia succeeded to retain the position of the largest world oil producer in 2011. The oil output has not been calculated finally in Saudi Arabia in the previous year. However, the November indicators showed that the kingdom produced an average of 10.05 million barrels daily.
A growing demand on Russian oil was promoted by an oil shortage in Asia after the March disaster at the Japanese nuclear power plant Fukushima-1, the civil war in Libya, which resulted in the oil exports paralyzed from that country since the spring of 2011.
