MOSCOW, January 3 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian President Dmitry Medvedev congratulated two-time Olympic ice hockey champion Alexander Yakushev on 65th birthday on Monday.
The congratulatory telegram posted on the Kremlin website reads,
“As an outstanding ice hockey player, two-time Olympic champion seven-time world champion, you created many victorious pages in the history of national sport. Your mastery played a major role in many decisive battles of our ice squad. The fans remember well your perfect play in the Soviet Union-Canada super series in 1972.
“Today, as the head of the ice hockey veteran club Legends of Ice Hockey, you contribute to the development of psychical culture and the promotion of the healthy lifestyle in the country.
