RIGA, January 1 (Itar-Tass) —— Seven teenagers aged from 16 to 19 died in a road accident in Latvia on the New Year night. Their car fell over into a river and sank, the Latvian State Police press secretary told reporters on Sunday.
The accident happened in eastern Latvia at about 3:30 a.m. local time (5:30 p.m. Moscow time) and killed three girls and four boys. Rescuers retrieved the car from the river.
Latvian President Andris Berzins presented condolences to the families and friends of the victims.
