Fire breaks out at St Petersburg hotel, no one hurt

Forty people were evacuated; none of them was hurt

ST. PETERSBURG, January 1 (Itar-Tass) —— A fire broke out at the St. Petersburg Karelia Hotel on the New Year’s Eve, a source at the St. Petersburg emergency situations department told Itar-Tass on Sunday.

The fire started at 2/27, Marshal Tukhachevsky Street, at 4:18 a.m. Moscow time, and firemen rated the event at three points by the five-point scale. A room and a part of the corridor burned down on the 14th floor.

Forty people were evacuated; none of them was hurt.
