MOSCOW, December 30 (Itar-Tass) —— The fire in the main building of the Moscow State University has been extinguished and nobody was injured, police said on Friday.
The fire broke out overnight on the 18th floor of the 34-story building and covered a space of 20 square meters.
500 students were evacuated from the dormitory in the building, including 150 people from the smoke-covered top floors.
At present the University management and local authorities are taking measures to accommodate the students.
A Chinese college girl was hospitalized with smoke poisoning after overnight fire in the Moscow State University, doctors said on Friday, but did not identify the girl.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
