Su-24 fighter jet catches fire while landing

The incident happened at the Marinovka airfield 65 kilometers from Volgograd

VOLGOGRAD, December 30 (Itar-Tass) —— A Su-24 fighter jet caught fire late on Thursday while landing at a military airfield near Volgograd but both pilots ejected to safety, local military said.

“The crew fulfilled a planned flight. During the touchdown a spark occurred and the jet caught fire. The command post ordered the pilots to eject,” they said.

The incident happened at the Marinovka airfield 65 kilometers from Volgograd.

Military prosecuors are investigating the incident.
