MOSCOW, December 26 (Itar-Tass) —— The Russian Supreme Court has found unlawful the Central Election Commission's denial to register the initiative group to nominate Boris Mironov as a candidate for the presidential elections, the court press service told Itar-Tass .
The court satisfied Mironov's complaint against the CEC, which refused to register his group to nominate him as a candidate for the Russian presidency, a court spokeswoman said.
The Russian Central Election Commission on December 18 denied registration of the group of voters supporting his self-nomination as a presidential candidate.
Mironov was the first editor in chief of the Rossiiskaya Gazeta newspaper and at present is a writer, in whose works a few years ago, signs of extremism were noticed.
CEC member Boris Ebzeyev said earlier that Mironov had no right to be elected Russian president, since the court established the fact of spreading materials aimed at arousing social, race, national or religious hatred and the idea of inferiority of citizens on the grounds of their social, race, ethnic, religious and language belonging.
