VOLGOGRAD, December 26 (Itar-Tass) —— Armed robbers in masks have stolen platinum bars at the cost of about 180 million roubles from the Astrakhan fibreglass plant. The robbery was committed overnight to Sunday, a source in the police department in the Astrakhan Region told Itar-Tass.
“About 10-12 armed robbers tied up the guards, then stole about 40 platinum bars with a total weight of more than 100 kilograms at the cost of about 180 million roubles from the shop at the plant, according to preliminary reports,” the source said.
The robbers were not detained hot of their traces. The search for the robbers continues. The police have found an abandoned bus belonging to the plant. The criminals have probably taken away the stolen platinum bars by the bus.
