TIRASPOL, December 26 (Itar-Tass) —— The former parliamentary speaker Yevgeny Shevchuk is leading with a big margin in the second round of the presidential elections in Transdniestria.

After more than 50% of ballots had been counted, he gained 65% of votes, while his rival, incumbent parliamentary speaker Anatoly Kaminsky polled 35%. Kaminsky’s election staff officially confirmed this report to Itar-Tass.
