KRASNOYARSK, December 25 (Itar-Tass) — At least 6-8 flats were damaged in the village of Elita, Krasnoyarsk Territory as a result of a blast at a dwelling house.
Heat supplies were switched off from the house, and tenants were suggested to leave the flats over the next day, since the degree of the house’s damaged has not been established, Itar-Tass learnt at the place of emergency from head of the village council Yelena Nedybina. She added that all the tenants of the damaged house are now at the nearby building of a kindergarten.
The blast of household gas took place on Sunday on the ground floor of the three-floor dwelling house. One man was killed. The house was linked to central gas supplies.
The press service of the territorial branch of the Ministry for Emergencies specified that “the first and second floors in the house section No.3 caved in; two flats are under debris, while another two flats were substantially damaged by the blast wave”. “Neighbour sections are not damaged. The explosion took place without a subsequent fire.
House residents were fully evacuated. A dead man was found at the place of the blast, and his identity is being established. Nobody else was injured,” the Ministry for Emergencies said.
The debris is being cleared by five units of machinery and 23 workers, including rescuers from the territorial Spasatel agency, rescuers from the Siberian regional rescue detachment of the Ministry for Emergencies. Specialists with sniff dogs are also engaged.
A crisis centre was set up to record all tenants of the house. Psychologists from the territorial agency of the Ministry for Emergencies work with house residents. Repair teams were set up to repair the house.
