MOSCOW, December 25 (Itar-Tass) -- Members of Russia’s Public Chamber, a consultative body reporting to the President, promise to “watch the reaction of the government” and the decisions that will be taken in the light of a rally that the liberalist opposition held in Moscow Saturday, lawyer Anatoly Kucherena, a members of the Chamber said.
Kucherena, who visited the rally on the Prospekt Sakharova Avenue, said the action had been marked by a fair level of organization and the generally civilized and polite conduct of its participants.
He voiced the confidence that “the government must heed the opinions of those who came to the rally with fruitful ideas and proposals.”
Kucherena said the Public Chamber, on its part, will watch the reaction the state will offer to the event and it will take under public control the decisions to be made upon the results of Saturday’s action.
