MOSCOW, December 24 (Itar-Tass) — About 29,000 people were participating at the peak of a opposition rally under the slogan “For Fair Elections!” on Academician Sakharov Avenue in downtown Moscow, spokesman of the Russian Interior Ministry Valery Gribakin told Itar-Tass on Saturday.
“About 29,000 people were participating at the peak of the demonstration on Academician Sakharov Avenue. The inflow of protesters equalled with the outflow at 15:20 Moscow time,” he said.
So, the demonstrators started to go away, though some of them are only going to the rally.
The Interior Ministry rejected some media reports that the access to the demonstration is closed. “People have a free access to the rally,” Gribakin said.
No people were detained at the demonstration, he said.
