MOSCOW, December 23 (Itar-Tass) — Eight people were killed and four injured when a Ukrainian minivan crashed into a Belarusian long-vehicle truck overnight 125 kilometers from Moscow.
Police said the minivan with Ukrainian license plates first hit a bus on the Minsk highway and then bounced into the oncoming lane where it crashed into the long vehicle. Eight people in the van were killed and three wounded. The Belarussian driver of the long vehicle was also injured. Police said there were at least three Ukrainian nationals among the dead.
Heavy snow and slippery roads complicated traffic in central Russia on Wednesday and Thursday.
