MOSCOW, December 22 (Itar-Tass) —— President Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin are the most often mentioned personalities in media ratings in the outgoing year, a source from the Medialogia company told Itar-Tass, quoting the results of monitoring 7,800 media outlets.
Dmitry Medvedev, Vladimir Putin and Sergei Sobyanin are on top of the rating lists, the source said. A group of ten top figures also includes U.S. President Barack Obama, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko, ex- finance minister Alexei Kudrin, French President Nicolas Sarcozy, spokesman for the Russian Investigative Committee Vladimir Markin and Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev.
The second most popular group of politicians quoted by the Russian media includes ex- Duma speaker Boris Gryzlov, LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky, Vice-premier Igor Shuvalov, KPRF leader Gennady Zyuganov, presidential aide Arkady Dvorkovich.
Entrepreneur Mikhail Prokhorov, who has recently been in the limelight in the Russian media, is in 22d position; Mikhail Khodorkovsky is in 40th place.
A list of most popular foreign politicians headed by Barack Obama and Nicolas Sarcozy also includes German Chancellor Angela Merkel who is in third position; Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich is in 17th place, British Prime Minister David Cameron ranks 25th, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is in 33rd position.
