Russia's Strategic Missile Forces successfully test-fired a short-range interceptor missile

MOSCOW, December 20 (Itar-Tass) — Russia's Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN) at the Sary-Shagan range, together with military-space defense (VKO) troops and industry representatives successfully test-fired a short-range interceptor missile at 12:01, Moscow time, on Tuesday, the press service of the Defense Ministry told Itar-Tass.

"The purpose of the launch is to confirm the tactical and technical performance characteristics of interceptor missiles of the missile defense system, which are in service with Russia's military-space defense," the Defense Ministry said.
