MOSCOW, December 20 (Itar-Tass) — The webvybory2012.ru website created on Monday to discuss the project to install webcams at all voting stations of the country, has come under a powerful attack, Deputy Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications Naum Marder said at a telephone conference with regional representatives on Monday.
"The website came under a powerful DDos attack and is now blocked," Marder said, "Somebody does not want the task, set by the government, to be fulfilled within a short timeframe."
He also believes "somebody is trying to politicize what is essentially an engineering task."
According to Marder, specialists will find technical means to combat this variety of "hooliganism."
Webvybory2012.ru is meant to gather recommendations from experts and the public for arranging webcasting from voting stations. The public discussions will run until December 23.
