NIZHNY NOVGOROD, December 19 (Itar-Tass) — One person died as the fire ripped through a care home for elderly and disabled people in Ufa, Russia’s Republic of Bashkortostan, the Volga region’s emergencies centre said on Monday.
The fire broke out at around 04:25 local time (02:25 Moscow time).
Firefighters evacuated 30 people from the building. In ten minutes the fire that spread over the area of 5 square meters was put out.
According to the preliminary information, smoking caused the fire that killed one inmate.
