CEC to register Zhirinovsky’s aides & to take Zyuganov’s documents

The question on registering a candidate from United Russia, Vladimir Putin, to participate in the presidential elections will be resolved, in compliance with the law

MOSCOW, December 18 (Itar-Tass) — The Russian Election Commission will examine on Monday, December 19, the question on registering authorized representatives of the Russian Liberal Democratic Party that nominated Vladimir Zhirinovsky to the presidency and will take documents from Gennady Zyuganov, CEC secretary Nikolai Konkin told reporters on Sunday.

“We shall hear the question on registering authorized representatives of Vladimir Volfovich Zhirinovsky on Monday, December 19. Later in the day, according to our information, Gennady Andreyevich Zyuanov will submit documents,” he said. Konkin noted that December 20 is the deadline for submitting documents on nominees from political parties.

He noted that the Yabloko congress is in progress on Sunday, and it can also nominate a candidate from the party. Besides, Konkin added that “two political parties that did not declare anything whether they would nominate their candidates”, specifying that he has in mind Patriots of Russia and Right Cause.

Konkin also confirmed that the question on registering a candidate from United Russia, Vladimir Putin, to participate in the presidential elections will be resolved, in compliance with the law, no later than the next week.
