MAGADAN, December 17 (Itar-Tass) — Prime Minister Vladimir Putin instructed the Finance and Transport ministries to spread the discount air traffic programme to women over 55, starting from April 1, 2012.
Speaking on Saturday at a meeting on accessibility of air flights, the cabinet head noted that young people and citizens over 60 enjoy privileges in purchasing air tickets.
“Women in our country are pensioned off five years earlier – at 55. I believe it would be right to cut the level of discount air traffic for women to 55 years. I request the Transport and Finance ministries to calculate this figure,” Putin said.
“It should be done that women can enjoy this privilege already from April 1, 2012,” he added.
