CHISINAU, December 16 (Itar-Tass) —— The Moldovan parliament has once again failed to elect the president.
The sole candidate – Speaker and Acting President Marian Lupu – gained 58 votes in the secret ballot on Friday. He was a nominee of the ruling Alliance for European Integration. No less than 61 votes are necessary to elect the president. Sixty-two deputies took part in the ballot.
