TIRASPOL, December 16 (Itar-Tass) —— Evgeny Shevchuk and Anatoly Kaminsky will compete in the run-off in Transdniestria.

During the first round on Sunday, Shevchuk received 38.5 percent of the vote, and Kaminsky – 26.3 percent. These results are final, the republic’s Central Election Commission reported on Friday.

Transdniestria’s acting Head Igor Smirnov, who scored 24.6 percent of the vote, discontinues the presidential rush. Earlier Smirnov filed a demand to call off the first round’s returns “due to many claims about distortions.” The Central Election Commission will process the claim on Friday.

The second round is due on December 25, in compliance with the legislation.
