Medvedev discussed with Putin steps to reform political system

At the same time Medvedev made it clear that he was working on concrete steps to perfect the political system of Russia

BRUSSELS, December 15 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has said that he had discussed with Prime Minister Vladimir Putin new rules of gubernatorial elections and made it clear that he was preparing concrete steps to perfect Russia’s political system.

“The things Putin said during the question-and-answer show are precisely the legal construction that we discussed with him several days ago. Namely, how to use the mediatory role of political parties, which represent the whole population of the country, and the role of the president as the safeguard of the Constitution. I believe that this solution may prove a good interim option,” he added.

At the same time Medvedev made it clear that he was working on concrete steps to perfect the political system of Russia.

“As the current president, and as a person who is not indifferent about the future of the country I shall present my vision of the Russian political system. I shall not only present it, but I will take concrete steps,” he said.
