KIEV, December 14 (Itar-Tass) — Kiev's appeals court on Wednesday has not granted the petition by the defense of former Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko for a softer measure of restraint.
The court announced its decision after a pause, after deliberations by a panel of judges.
It said the lawyers had not shown "the proofs of Timoshenko's poor state of health."
The court did not allow the journalists to report the proceedings live. Meanwhile, Timoshenko's lawyers continue to read new petitions. In particular, they insist on reopening pre-trial investigation into their client's case.
