Four gunmen killed in special operation in Kabardino-Balkaria

A criminal case has been opened on charges of assaulting law enforcers and illegal possession of arms

NALCHIK, December 14 (Itar-Tass) — Four gunmen who offered armed resistance to law enforcement forces were killed in a special operation in the village of Zhankhotenko in Kabardino-Balkaria’s Baksan district overnight to Wednesday, a spokesman for the republican administration of the Russian Investigations Committee told Itar-Tass.

“The killed gunmen are being identifies. Investigation is underway. No one was hurt from among police and security officers,” the spokesman said.

A criminal case has been opened on charges of assaulting law enforcers and illegal possession of arms.

On December 10, the regime of counterterrorist operation was imposed for several hours near this village, although its results were not made public.
