MOSCOW, December 10 (Itar-Tass) —— An opposition rally has ended in Moscow without incidents, police said.
“People are actively leaving Bolotnaya Square with no more than 3,000 still remaining there,” a police officer said, adding that the situation is calm and no serious incidents have been registered.
Earlier, the city police department said some 20,000 people had attended the rally in the square and about 5,000 in the surrounding areas.
The participants in the rally adopted a resolution that calls in particular for freedom to political prisoners, cancellation of the results of the December 4 Duma elections, resignation of Central Election Commission Chairman Vladimir Churov, and “an investigation of his activities”, registration of all political parties and democratisation of legislation in this field, as well as the holding of new parliamentary elections.
