MOSCOW, December 10 (Itar-Tass) — The Russian Communist Party will stage an All-Russian protest action on December 18-20 “against the unprecedented falsified results of elections and numerous arrests of civil activists”, says a statement by the presidium of the party’s central committee, placed on Saturday at its official site.

“It is possible to protect the right to free elections only by joint efforts, to change the social and economic course, to return Russia to the road of creation, people’s power, attention to needs and aspirations of all citizens,” Communists say.

They called on all opposition parties and non-government organisations, irrespective of their political creeds, “to unite for the sake of protection of democracy and justice, human rights, to put a barrier to omnipotence of corrupted office-holders, coveting the last asset of robbed citizens – their right to vote”.

At the same time, the statement underlines that Communists are against “attempts of pro-NATO ultra-liberal forces to exploit popular indignation in order to push the country into “the orange abyss and chaos”.
