South Ossetia’s presidential election rerun due March 25

Under the deal Kokoity is to leave his post, while the Opposition pledges to end protests

TSKHINVAL, December 10 (Itar-Tass) —— South Ossetia will have a presidential election rerun on March 25, and the former presidential candidate, Alla Dzhioyeva will be able to take part, as follows from a compromise agreement achieved between the Oppositon and the authorities of South Ossetia.

South Ossetia’s president Eduard Kokoity and Alla Dzhioyeva put their signatures to the arrangement on Friday.

Under the deal Kokoity is to leave his post, while the Opposition pledges to end protests.
