MOSCOW, December 9 (Itar-Tass) —— The death toll of the Moscow stabber outrage has grown to two, a city police source told Itar-Tass.
“A woman has died at hospital. The total death rate of the accident is two. Nine people are hurt,” he said.
The source added that the attack happened near a pharmacy where the stabber, a drug addict, had tried to buy strong preparations.
Criminal charges have been brought against Alexei Arbuzov, 27, who stabbed pedestrians with a knife in Moscow on Friday, Russian Investigation Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin told Itar-Tass earlier in the day.
Arbuzov is suspected of attempting eight murders. The other charge brought against him is hooliganism, Markin said.
Forensic experts and detectives of the Committee are working on the incident scene, he said.
“The suspect is in custody, his arrest is under consideration. Psychiatrists will examine him soon,” Markin said.
A police patrol seized the attacker at about 1:00 p.m. Moscow time on Korneichuk Street.
The detainee lives in Shatura, Moscow region. “The police assisted by eyewitnesses seized the man within 15 minutes. He was taken to the Bibirevo precinct for an investigation,” the department said.
