TSKHINVALI, December 9 (Itar-Tass) —— Negotiations between supporters of former South Ossetian presidential candidate Alla Dzhioyeva and head of the Russian presidential administration’s department for inter-regional and cultural relations with foreign states Sergei Vinokurov are suspended for technical reasons, a representative of the Russian presidential administration told Itar-Tass.
“We hope the negotiations will resume in the near future,” he said.
Dzhioyeva told reporters earlier in the day she was not taking part in a meeting with Vinokurov “because of a number of provocative acts taken yesterday.”
Dzhioyeva said that the “provocative acts left her no choice and prevented her from taking part in the meeting.”
In the words of Dzhioyeva, priest Saurmag Bazzayev who had been supporting her was deported from South Ossetia on Thursday. Meanwhile, observers said that Bazzayev remained in Tskhinvali and did not go anywhere.
