MOSCOW, December 9 (Itar-Tass) —— Criminal charges have been brought against Alexei Arbuzov, 27, who stabbed pedestrians with a knife in Moscow on Friday, Russian Investigation Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin told Itar-Tass.
Arbuzov is suspected of attempting eight murders. The other charge brought against him is hooliganism, Markin said.
Forensic experts and detectives of the Committee are working on the incident scene, he said.
“The suspect is in custody, his arrest is under consideration. Psychiatrists will examine him soon,” Markin said.

“Eleven people were hurt, and one of them died. The victims include a child, whose mother was stabbed right before his eyes. The child has a psychological trauma,” the department said.
A police patrol seized the attacker at about 1:00 p.m. Moscow time on Korneichuk Street.
“Four victims were reported at first. Later on hospitals reported another four victims, mostly elderly people. The assailant also stabbed a woman right in front of a child’s eyes,” the source said.
