MOSCOW, December 9 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia warns Israel against a military operation against Iran. “Another armed conflict in the region, especially of such a scale, would become catastrophic,” Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told Rossiya 24 on Friday.
“We should seek an agreement on the problem related to the Iranian nuclear program. We have explained to the Israeli colleagues why Russia will be taking such efforts,” he said, noting that Moscow warned Israel against “a possible decision to start a military operation.”
“That is very serious. The region is destabilized with numerous conflicts; it is turbulent, and another armed conflict, especially of such a scale, will become a catastrophe,” Ryabkov said.
“That is how we formulated our position for the Israeli partners,” he concluded.
