MOSCOW, December 9 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Viktor Khristenko and Finnish Minister of Economy Juri Hakamies have signed a memorandum on cooperation in the field of ship-building and sea equipment, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade reports on Friday.
The chief aim of the memorandum is to promote the implementation of joint projects in the field of ship-building and sea equipment for arctic regions between scientific and research institutes, technological centers and companies of Russia and Finland.
During the signing of the memorandum, Khristenko stressed that “ship-building is a traditional component of Russian-Finnish cooperation which is at the stage of renovation today.” He also reminded of the national strategy of development of ship-building worked out in Russia, one the elements of which is “to find strategic partners capable to create a new innovation image of Russian ship-building and jointly make products for the world market.”
